Build a Safer Neighborhood Through the Installation of an Outdoor Gym

Project Goals and Objectives: To enhance safety and attractiveness in Trekantsparken, Stockholm City decided to invest in a new outdoor gym. The aim of the project was to actively increase the use of the park, contributing to greater social cohesion and improved safety in the area. Omnigym was selected as the supplier to deliver a solution that combines functional and aesthetically pleasing fitness options.

Results and Impact: Completed in July 2023, the outdoor gym has quickly become a popular and integral part of Trekantsparken. A survey conducted in the fall revealed that the gym is used frequently on all weekdays and almost around the clock. It has attracted a diverse audience, from beginners to experienced gym-goers, and people of all ages. The increased activity has contributed to a heightened sense of safety in the area and has positively impacted overall satisfaction.

Safety and Crime Reduction: The installation of the outdoor gym has significantly contributed to the area's safety. The park now enjoys a more secure environment, with active, engaged community members playing a role in keeping the space safe. The positive changes have been well-received by the local community, reinforcing the gym's role as a catalyst for increased public safety.

Financial Outcome and Future Plans: The project was executed within budget and has proven to be a success. Motivated by the project's positive impact on safety and community engagement, Stockholm City has applied for additional funding for 2024. This funding will support the expansion of the outdoor gym as part of a phase 2 project, aiming to further enhance the park's appeal and functionality.

Installation with Groundworks:

For the Trekantsparken outdoor gym, Stockholm City and Omnigym selected a permanent installation involving thorough groundworks. This approach included excavation and concrete pouring, ensuring a stable, durable base for the equipment. The robust installation enhances safety by preventing equipment movement and damage, providing a reliable and secure fitness environment for all users

Squats: Squats train multiple muscle groups simultaneously, primarily in the lower body.
Core Rack: Core Rack combines abdominal bench, dips, and back lifts for a solid core and upper body workout.
Triceps Press: Triceps press is an isolated exercise targeting the triceps muscles.
Seated bicep curl: Biceps curl is an isolated exercise for building strong arm muscles and increasing muscle mass.
Standing Row: Standing row focuses on training the back muscles, including the mid-back, as well as arms, shoulders, and chest.
Shoulder Press: Shoulder press is an upper body exercise targeting the front, middle shoulders, and triceps.
Lat Pulldown: Lat pulldown is an exercise that focuses on training the latissimus dorsi muscles (broad back muscles).
Leg Press: Leg press is an exercise that strengthens your thighs, buttocks, and calves.
Bench Press: Bench press is an exercise that trains the chest muscles, triceps, and shoulders.
Multilift: A versatile machine allowing for various exercises, including Bulgarian split squats, shrugs, and farmer's lifts. It provides a comprehensive workout for the legs, shoulders, and grip strength.
Abdominal machine: Specifically designed for core exercises, this machine targets and strengthens the abdominal muscles for improved core stability and strength.
Plyobox 45 cm, 60 cm, 70 cm: This plyometric box is used for explosive movements and box jumps, improving agility, coordination, and lower body strength.
