The outdoor gym at Parc André-Citroën in Paris consisted of 6 Omnigym outdoor gym equipment on movable platforms.
We want to make Paris an even more active city by redesigning it so that everyone can be more active. To achieve this, we plan to create active streets in public spaces that encourage physical activity and sports.

The Challenge
Like many European cities, the City of Paris aims to encourage people to be active and to provide opportunities for everyone to exercise in public spaces. In the summer of 2025, the City of Paris, in cooperation with Omnigym, wanted to see not only how many people would use a free outdoor gym in a public park, but also how far they’d be willing to travel for it. Parc André‑Citroën, located in the 15th arrondissement, was chosen as the site for the installation of the Omnigym outdoor gym equipment.
The Solution
The Omnigym outdoor gym equipment was installed under a railway bridge to provide shelter from both rain and sun. Its location at the main entrance of Parc André-Citroën ensured high visibility and benefited from steady pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Surrounded by cycling-friendly paths and serving as a popular stop along routes exploring the Seine River, the park entrance was a natural and strategic choice for the installation. As this was a temporary setup, Omnigym provided movable platforms for all equipment, allowing flexible placement without the need for groundworks. A project by Omnigym and reseller WIITraining.
This initiative is excellent and should be replicated across Paris and its surrounding neighborhoods.

This is the best outdoor gym equipment I have ever used. I have seen this brand before in the Netherlands, and I’m so happy that Paris now has it as well. I hope to have this installed close to my home.
Omnigym quickly became a favorite among Parisians, attracting a total of 13265 visits
The Omnigym outdoor gym at Parc André‑Citroën quickly became a favorite among residents, attracting 13265 visits during its temporary placement. The project received coverage in French national media, including Le Parisien, Actu Paris, and Libération, highlighting its cultural visibility and positive public response.
The placement of the equipment at a high-traffic pedestrian entrance, combined with its resilient design and adjustable resistance, proved highly effective in attracting a diverse range of users. This installation demonstrates that integrating outdoor gyms into urban design can lower barriers to participation, promote public health, and create shared community spaces that serve people of all ages.
For cities and municipalities, the initiative demonstrates how repurposing public spaces for outdoor weight training can promote active lifestyles. By providing free-to-use, high-quality outdoor gym equipment, urban parks become active spaces, encouraging both casual and committed users to exercise outdoors. EU surveys indicate that almost 50% of Europeans prefer to exercise in parks or outdoor environments.
After the summer, as part of a continued effort to expand outdoor weight training in public spaces in Paris, the Omnigym outdoor gym was relocated to Parc Chapelle-Charbon in the 18th arrondissement. The new park, built on former railway land, is part of Paris North East’s major urban renewal project. The project is led by the City of Paris Department of Urban Planning (Direction de l’Urbanisme), with Paris & Métropole Aménagement serving as the development authority.
